I was so nervous at the contest. I talked about experiences in New Zealand and how they helped me to be grown up. I knew that every participants were well prepared, so I did not think that I could win, so I was so happy.
I heard about the speech contest from English teacher. She told me that the theme would be “how learning together with international students changed my life”. My life really changed by studying with international students. They were more than classmates or best friends. They mean brothers to me. I thought that I could say thank you to people who send international students to my school by participating in this contest.
I wanted to tell my opinion about exchange students program. If I talked about all the good things and bad things about the program honestly, the program would be more beneficial for both international students and local kiwi students. It was fun participating the contest, and after the contest I want to interact with international students more. It became the unforgettable experience for me.
Woo, Edmund is coming! We made Tempura for him. I was thinking what to talk to him while cooking.
“Ring, ring” I heard the ring! I was so nervous. Edmund came in to living room. I wanted to say something, but I could not… Everyone else was speaking English, so I felt envious.
I wish I could speak English. (snip) I told my brother to tell Edmund the Japanese way of saying “Thank you for food”. Then everybody said “Thank you for food” in Japanese. Of course, Edmund too! I was happy that Edmund enjoyed the food.
(snip) We went to seminar with Eddy. Mrs. Tahakawa was talking to Eddy. Eddy seemed very happy, so I asked him what they were talking about.
Then he said “why is Santa Claus wearing a short sleeves?”!!! I was so surprised that they can come up with these topics.
We ate hot dogs at the station. It was very good! I was so happy because Eddy was happy. (snip) We came home. We ate curry rise. It was first time for Eddy to eat curry rise. But he liked it! He seemed he really liked it!
I had to go to school today! Eddy and my brother went to Monkey park today.
I wanted to go too! They came home really tired. It was the last dinner, so my mother cooked pizza and bread.
Eddy liked pizza a lot. I gave him a Christmas card I made in English class today. Then Eddy drew a picture of Kelly for me! He was a really good artist!
This is the last day to spend the time with Eddy. It was really quick, even though I felt long.
Eddy came to my school today! I don’t know why, but I was so nervous. Everybody came to school too.
In English class, we did the game “Fruit Basket”. It was really fun! But Eddy did not do good.
After the English class, we took a picture with Eddy in a field. Eddy said that the track and field in New Zealand is covered by lawn, but it is sand in Japan, so he looked curious. Finally I shake hand with Eddy, and said good bye. 4 days was really quick!
